5 Reasons Why You Need A Life Coach

Are you living the best life you can possibly live? You are happy in every aspect of your life? If you answered no, then keep reading as we explore the 5 reasons you need a life coach.

What Is A Life Coach?

What do Oprah Winfrey, Bill Clinton, Hugh Jackman and Leonardo DiCaprio all have in common? They all used and still use a life coach. But why? What does a life coach do that is so important to these successful people? The short answer is it depends on what their needs are. Similar to a professional sports coach it is not a one size fits all situation. Some people need to improve self-confidence, others are looking for a change of career but need a strategy that will not make them broke, whilst others need direction. A life coach is usually someone who has been, done and got the t-shirt in many different walks of life. They understand what is needed for success and know the road map to get you there. There are also specialities in Life Coaching. Some coaches specialise on working mums or start-up businesses whilst others will be a Jack of all trades. Although there are no formal qualifications for Life Coaches most have enough experience to direct you towards the correct path. It is important to remember that a Life Coach will not tell you what to do but guide you. The old proverb "teach a man to fish" is much the mantra here. In essence, a life coach is someone who will help you design a plan for your goals and keep you on the straight and narrow.

"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone"

1. You Need Your Confidence "Topping-up"

At some point in everyone's life, you will suffer from lack of confidence. It could be temporally or become more consistent. In today's social network where everyone portrays to be having more fun than you, the pressure to keep up the appearances is bound to weigh anyone down.

Either way, a problem shared is a problem halved. A coach will be able to help build you back up to where you used to be and push you and your goals further than you have ever been before.

2. You Need Direction

This world is full of distraction. From Facebook scrolling, working overtime at work to wasting time on people that don't have our best interested at heart. We are constantly distracted. If you someone who needs to focus on the bigger picture or even someone who doesn't know what the bigger picture is then its time to get a Life Coach.

The main goal for any life coach is to help set out a plan for you to achieve your goal(s) and help motivate you to stay on track. They keep you accountable for your actions and push you back onto the right path if you stray off.

3. You Don't Believe You Deserve Anything Good

Do you believe that you deserve everything positive that comes into your life? I didn't. I used to wonder what I did to deserve the good that was bestowed on me. I wasn't worth the reward I was receiving. This all stemed from not believing that I was worth this good fortune.

A Life Coach looks to ask deep and meaningful questions to get to the root cause of any negative thinking that the client may have. It is only here where the healing can begin. Through a number of sessions that can improve your self-belief and improve your self-worth.

4. You Are Not Reaching Your Full Potential

Can you believe that potential is unlimited? There is no such thing as glass ceilings or reaching your peak when it comes to potential. Potential comes from the Latin word Potentia, which means Power. Power is unlimited. Everything in this world uses power. From the Sun, the plants to your microwave. The Big Bang is the most powerful energy that has ever been recorded and that is still flowing through the universe even now.

The same goes for you. You have the power to go beyond your own comprehension, you just don't believe you can. This limitation stops us from doing and being what we want to be. Coaching allows you to open the door to your potential and focuses your mind on how to be the best you can be. Read this amazing article by Havard Business School about reaching your full potential

5. You Are Not Happy with Life

Enough is enough. You aren't happy with the lot you have been dealt. Whether it is your relationships, work life, health and wellbeing or your finances. You have had enough and come to the end of the road.

By developing your own personalised goal-orientated plan, life coaching will get you moving in the direction you need to improve these areas. It is recommended that a diary is kept to monitor your successes to allow you to track your progress. Life coaching guarantees you successes in the key areas of your life because the coaches themselves have the roadmap to get you there.

There are many more reasons why you might need a Life Coach to help you get the life you deserve but to get to the finish you need to start the journey. Many Life Coaches offer a free 30-minute session to see if you are both compatible. It's important to remember that it is not a one size fits all and you both must be able to work with each other. Often a Life Coach will turn down a client if they feel they are not the correct fit but this is to avoid time-wasting on both sides.

If you truly aren't happy with your life and want to make a change for the better. Look for a Life Coach near you. Many offer web-services like myself where the meeting can be conducted via Zoom or Skype. With weekly catch-ups and tasks to take away and work on its time to fight fear and find freedom.
